The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a voluntary program which gives participants important benefits such as a reduction in the number of Customs examinations and the associated costs and delays.
Customs also promises that C-TPAT members will also be the least impacted by supply chain disruptions in the event of a future terrorist attack. US Customs is steadily promoting participation by offering promises of many future benefits and encouraging members to give preferential treatment to fellow C-TPAT members when choosing business partners.
